The Adventures of Anna

In a changing climate, I strive to understand the interweavings of evolution and ecology in our natural world.

I believe that local natural history knowledge is essential in early as well as advanced education.

We need to know all about who is where in order to know who does what in order to know how that might change.

I pursue this through research and investigation as well as through art.

Curious about my process or my research? Check out the rest of this site or get in touch!

Thought of the day

Egg over rice for lunch. Even if washed, are there differences between a fresh egg with bloom on shell and sterilized store bought egg? How do those microbial differences impact flavor, nutrient ad health benefits or is there no impact at all?

Currently working on analyzing data looking at microbial community patterns in air and soil along a north-south gradient. Also writing up the benefits of implementing a creative assignment in place of traditional capstone in STEM courses, along with notes on the benefits of scaffolding large assignments. Working on some possible illustrations for Botany and Dragons as well as applying for jobs. If you know of any positions involving conservation, natural history, restoration, or curriculum redesign, please pass it along.

Feel free to get in touch about research ideas, art, writing, editing or anything else you’re curious about.

I sell my art through Etsy and Redbubble and am selectively open to commissions.
